1. Yoshi's Island DS | |
The Dual Screen version of the game kicks the usual level of the previously released game into stratosphere. Still crayon hand-drawn absolutely marvelous graphics, still same huge levels, light-hearted atmosphere, created by charming music and picturesque sceneries, but some gaming options have been upgraded. For one, now you can plop the four babies on Yoshi's back to use their unique abilities which gives you more ways to interact with the environment. Probably one of the best platformers, Yoshi's Island DS is everything you loved about the original version plus new exciting facilities, so the game doesn't feel like a needless nostalgia trip. And, of course, now you can play it with 3 opponents, as it supports up to 4 gamers simultaneously.
2. Mario Kart DS | |
It was the first of DS games to support Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. Mario Kart DS has a multiplayer modality, like the majority of the new generation Nintendo games. The game displays some well recognizable old tracks alongside a few splendid newly released ones.
3. SimCity DS | |
Based on Sims 3000, SimCity DS has developed some extras like mini-games. The plus to it is that it is much more playable with the touch screen controlling, the bad side is that the game looks kind of cramped on the small screen. Still, the game looks as close to the PC version as possible. One of the most loved city builders, online SimCity DS is as innovative and highly imaginative as ever. Seems a nice place to revisit.

Once you have started Pokemon and Diamond and Pearl, you will leap right into the story of the gameplay without much fuss and feathers. The gameplay presupposes classifying captured Pokemon according to their elemental powers or some more complicated characteristics, but that's just basic - further you will have to spend over than 40 hours hunting on rare types of Pokemon, fishing, harvesting and picking berries for your Pokemon collection, brewing healing potions and setting hideaways for them. There's a hint of NES nostalgia in two-buttoned control system which send Mario to wall-jumping and performing other sorts of acrobatics, known by Super Mario 64. 7. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Despite of a slightly less elaborate script, Partners in Time is nevertheless a worthy and quality sequel of the famous RPG series. This time it is an evil space invaders race called Shroob, led by their vindictive and greedy for power Princess. But as luck would have it, Mario has got enough moves up his sleeve to take advantage of. A miscellaneous pack of characters will help Mario out on his way to glory. A thoroughly original vision of the game idea. Humorous and daring in its spontaneity, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime is one of the kind in its non-conformity. The game treads a somewhat new ground here: sticking to the script, Rocket, a blue slime, whose countrymen (if they might be called so) of Slimenia kingdom get abducted by a mysterious cartel who go by the name of "Plob", pulls out to rescue his species. Two glorious heroes instead of one: Sonic the Hedgehog gains a new friend - Blaze the Cat. You are to help the partners track down precious Sol emeralds.
